Dominique Imbert was born in 1940 in Montpellier, in the south of France.
After studying Literature in London and Paris, he went to the United States, in his own words, “accidentally” worked as an ethnologist in Alaska and as a chef in Manhattan. After receiving his doctorate, he started working as a professor of literature at Paris High School.
After teaching for 4 years, she decided to quit the blackboard and in 1967 set up a workshop that made steel sculptures in Viols Le Fort, a medieval French town north of Montpellier.
Here he designed and manufactured the first Focus fireplace for his own use. He then repeated this essay for those who were fascinated by everything he designed. As he continued to design his works, an original line emerged and “Focus”, the world's most prestigious fireplace brand and one of France's 100 most valuable companies, was born.
This model and many other fireplace models were exhibited in world-famous museums, as well as numerous design awards, and made the cover of the world's most famous decoration magazines.

Can the fireplace be extinguished before the fuel burns completely?
Yup. The fireplace can be extinguished at any time before the fuel runs out. However, we recommend that you continue to burn until the fuel runs out. The extinguishing mechanism is for those moments when you need to leave the house and not leave it on fire.
How do I light the fireplace?
The instruction booklet supplied with the product you purchased provides all the instructions you need to use the Ecosmart flueless fireplace safely and efficiently. Lighting the EcoSmart™ Fireplace is simple – just follow the instructions and you'll have beautiful flames in your home in seconds.
Are Ecosmart Fireplaces easy to install?

What is the installation time?
In fact, there is no real assembly. Our range of Designer Fireplaces and Fireplace Grills can simply be positioned where desired and immediately operated. Our Fireplace Enclosures range is also designed to fit anywhere and be enclosed.
Can Ecosmart Fireplaces be installed anywhere?
Almost anywhere! Ecosmart flueless fireplaces are suitable for all but very small rooms. Details regarding assembly vary according to the model used, and all details are specified in the product user manual.
Before applying Ecosmart, ask your local distributor whether permission is required from authorized institutions. This is subject to authorization in several countries.
Are you sending a team for assembly?
All of our products are designed to be easily assembled and applied. Some Design Series models come disassembled and can be easily put together with the installation guide. The end user can do this himself or have a professional do it.
Do you already have products suitable for my existing fireplace?
Our burner kit and fireplace grate series can be used by placing them in open type (without glass cover) fireplaces that are already built and not used for various reasons. Pay attention to the minimum distances in such applications.
Our fireplace interior grill series consists of products that contain the Ecosmart burner kit, which can be easily placed inside the existing fireplace or used in new fireplace designs.
How to clean Ecosmart burner kits?
All stainless steels can be easily cleaned by spraying a commercially available stainless steel cleaner spray on a soft damp cloth and wiping. When the fireplace is lit and all the fuel is gone and the burner kit has cooled, you can hold it under hot water for a while to remove the bioethanol residues. It is normal for stainless steel to fade over time with burning.
Does the fireplace heat the room it is in?
Ecosmart fireplaces are very efficient because they are flueless. There is no heat escape from the chimney, all the heat released as a result of combustion stays in the room. Please read the burner kit section for heating capacities and volumes.

What is a Chimney Fireplace?

What is bioethanol?
Bioethanol is pure alcohol, also known as methyl spirit.
Bioethanol or simply 'ethanol' is a renewable energy source obtained by fermenting the sugar and starch components of plant by-products. These are products such as sugar cane and wheat in general. It is also made from corn, potatoes, milk, rice, beets and recently grapes and bananas, and these depend on the agricultural power of the country in question.

Natural gas fireplaces within the scope of the collection work with a closed chamber system. Thanks to this system, it can now be preferred that the chimney comes out of the roof or the wall.
Decofire natural gas fireplaces can be controlled manually or by remote control. The remote control communicates with radio frequency. At the same time, the ambient temperature can be controlled automatically with its thermostat. With the remote control, the thermostat can also be programmed as timer. Thanks to this programming, it is possible to turn the fireplace on and off at the desired time even when it is in the off position. In case the remote control is lost or broken, the manual control on the fireplace is always active.
